Overview

Archive nodes store historical message data and earn rewards from the Archive Pool (70% of PMQ fees).

Full Archive

Sharded Archive

Storage	50-100 GB per shard
RAM	8 GB
CPU	2+ cores
Bandwidth	50 Mbps

Quick Start

1. Choose Your Mode

# Full archive (all history)
obsidian-archive --mode full

# Sharded archive (specific epochs)
obsidian-archive --mode shard --epochs 2001-3000

2. Sync Data

# Initial sync from network
obsidian-archive --sync

3. Register On-Chain

// Stake and register
await archivePool.register(nodeId, { value: stakeAmount });

4. Start Serving

obsidian-archive --serve

Claiming Rewards

// Check balance
const balance = await archivePool.getBalance(myAddress);

// Claim accumulated rewards
await archivePool.claim();

Monitoring

Track your node's performance:

• Queries served

• Uptime percentage

• Reward accumulation

• Storage usage

Nodes with poor uptime risk slashing.
